Are you an experienced Mental Health Support Worker looking for flexible and rewarding work?


Nursing Direct is recruiting dedicated Band 4 Mental Health Support Workers to support individuals with complex mental health and behavioural needs in the Faversham area.


Working within community, residential, and supported living settings, you will provide person-centred support that promotes independence, wellbeing, and positive outcomes. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in mental health, behaviours of concern, PMVA, and 2:1 support packages.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, person-centred support

  • Build positive therapeutic relationships

  • Support individuals with daily living skills, independence, and community access

  • Implement behaviour support plans and risk management strategies

  • Work within 2:1 support packages where required

  • Respond appropriately to changes in mental health and behaviour

  • Provide emotional support and reassurance

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation

  • Follow care plans, safeguarding procedures, and organisational policies

  • Work collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary teams


Requirements

  • Previous experience in a mental health, behavioural support, or healthcare setting

  • Experience supporting individuals with complex mental health needs and behaviours of concern

  • Experience working within 2:1 support packages

  • Current PMVA training (or equivalent)

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Calm, resilient, and compassionate approach

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Flexible, reliable, and committed to delivering high-quality care


Desirable Experience

  • Autism and learning disability support

  • Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)

  • Forensic, rehabilitation, supported living, or community mental health settings

  • Mental health crisis support
