The UK Are Short of 115 Specialist Nurses for MS

A charity has warned that the UK are now short of 115 nurses for the treatment of MS. The UK need to do this if they want to try and meet the needs of the people who are being diagnosed with the condition. Some believe that there is somewhat of a postcode lottery going on right now and that not everyone is getting the treatment they need. Those who are in the field of private nursing or even in homecare will know more than anyone how important it is to give people who have been diagnosed with the condition the support that they need but this is becoming harder and harder to do.

Raising awareness of the issue has to be a priority. That being said, so many people are trying to do whatever they can to raise awareness of the situation. The MS Trust have launched a campaign and they have called it #FairMSCare. David Martin who is the chief of the charity has stated that MS nurses do a special job and they really do work hard to make sure that everyone is cared for to the best of their ability but at the end of the day they are under pressure to try and deliver an exceptional service. Even with all of this, they are trying to take on new patients and there is an overall lack of balance.

That is why they have done everything they can to highlight the issues by launching a campaign. They are trying to address the issue of NHS nurses in the UK and they are also calling upon the government in an attempt to make sure that nobody is left to manage their journey alone. The latest figures show that 130,000 people in the UK have MS and this is 21% higher than the original estimate.
