The social care system applies to those who are over the age of 18 and the system is said to be struggling due to the increasing need for adult care. Those who are given care in their own homes or even nursing homes are now facing a shortage of staff and the level of care is also deteriorating as well. She believes that people do not want to do this kind of work, and that in this profession, there is a strong desire when it comes to getting the people the care that they need.

One in four social care workers are also dealing with a zero hours contract as well, and this puts even more pressure on those who work in the industry. People are leaving because they are not getting the hours that they want and this is leaving them with a huge level of financial insecurity.
