Doctor Phil de Warren Penny is the deputy co-chair when it comes to negotiations. He has chosen to talk about the perfect storm that is brewing in light of some of the changes that are going to be made. This is especially the case when you look at the pension rules. Of course, separate charges are going to be made to the system and they are also going to be converged too. This is going to lead to a perfect storm of punitive rules.
These issues do relate to the reduction and even the annual allowance for overall pension growth. The introduction of the allowance and even the pension rules are now going to be applied to those who have no option but to join. This comes with unintended consequences and the charges are being levied too. The tapered annual allowance was reduced in the year 2015 and this resulted in a somewhat cliff edge phenomenon. This really does discourage doctors from taking on vital work. Of course, a small amount of additional work around the threshold could actually result in well over £13,500 of even more tax. Doctors could end up paying way more to do pensionable additional shifts or even fee work. If doctors want to try and avoid this then they need to try and limit their income. Of course, there is no telling whether this is going to affect those who work in private nursing or even in homecare.
Patients and other healthcare experts are now experiencing hardships and they are also feeling the impact of this across the entire hospital. More and more people are being aware of this and now people are saying that this could affect the amount of people who are doing overtime too.
