The Health Secretary Has Asked the Public how to Make Scotland Great
The health secretary has come out and asked the public how they can make Scotland a much better place to live. If you work in homecare or even in private nursing, then you will know how much of a focus has been put on sectors such as this in recent years. Now the Scottish government have come out to say that they want to try and create more bespoke care packages while giving social workers the support they need. They also want to bolster mental health for the older generation. Their ultimate goal is to try and make sure that Scotland is absolutely the best place to live while also making it appealing to those who want to grow old. The government have launched a public campaign and they are trying to find out what is working right now and what isn’t. They also want to do their bit to give help and support to those who truly need it, improving living conditions while helping those who truly need it. Studies have found that those who are over the age of 65 happen to make up over 70% of hospital admissions. There is also an estimated one million people who are living in Scotland, and this is expected to rise even more. Studies have found that those who are over the age of 70 and those who live with around three health conditions account for over 70% of hospital admissions. This is not good to say the least and that is why the government are doing what they can to try and curb this number as much as possible. The government want their location to be the best place to grow old while also ensuring that the older generation don’t just have rewarding lives, but also a rewarding retirement.
