The DVLA Has Become the First Member of the Wales Hub for Carers

It appears that the DVLA are paving the way when you look at the list of carer friendly employers. They have become the first member of a new organisation and they have also launched a membership program as well. This is known as being the Employers for Carers and this service has the overall goal of creating a carer-friendly workplace. This has all been backed by the Welsh government and they want to provide hands-on advice to those who need it the most. After all, 1 in 9 are carers in Wales and a lot of them struggle to balance their work with caring for their friends and even their loved ones.

There is clearly a great need for this service and this is because nearly 50% of carers have had to give up their work so that they can look after the ones that they love. There are 180,000 carers in Wales alone and when you consider the impact this has on individual support you will soon see why so many people are supporting this movement. Keeping carers in work can be difficult due to the amount of responsibility they have outside of their career but there are hopes that this new organisation can put an end to all of that by giving those who work in private nursing or even in homecare the help they need. The organisation have come out to say that they are thrilled that the DVLA have chosen to join them as they are one of the largest employers in Swansea. There are also hopes that DVLA are going to set an example of how other employers can follow in their footsteps and this could mean really great things for the carer industry.
