Volunteers Encouraged to Participate in New Parkinson’s Trial

Over 10 million people from across the world are now diagnosed with the disease known as Parkinson’s. This has prompted a research team to try and invite people from all walks of life to take part in several trials so that they can then find new ways of trying to understand what is going to happen both before and after it has been diagnosed. They also want to try and understand what role sleep plays in the overall development of the disease. It is said that over 10 million people across the world have the condition yet not many people know much about it. People are conducting studies to try and find out how much interplay there is between genetics, neurotransmitters and cells. They also want to find out how the impact is going to influence the overall development of the condition too.

According to the Parkinson’s UK website, it would seem that one in 37 people are going to be diagnosed with the condition. The three main symptoms include shaking and slow movement. People also suffer from things such as inflexible muscles. If you work in homecare or if you work in private nursing you will know how devastating this can be. Those who offer bespoke care packages or even those who have experience working with social workers will also understand the implications that this can have on mental health too.

If you do sign up for the trial then the team there will use state of the art imaging to try and understand how the genes act differently and how this happens to affect the molecular activity in the brain’s activity. This is all very interesting, to say the least and it just goes to show how things have changed overall.
