went to her door with a warm plate of food. This certainly took her by surprise, but it was well received.

Amelia is studying medicine at the Dundee university and she cooks for her neighbour every single Thursday. She does this because she is a member of Meal with Meal Makers and this is all designed to help the elderly to have the warm meals that they need to really feel at home. She is very proud to be part of the organisation and she says that she always has a smile on her face.

Amelia loves to cook and she lives the next street over so it really does make perfect sense. She has admitted that she didn’t know what to expect at all when she first visited but she did say that she made her feel so very welcome. She also said that being able to talk with someone who has so much wisdom really did give her a brand new perspective on her own life as well as the
lives of those around her.

This is an incredible story and it is great to see someone helping out someone else, and she does it all for free as well. The voluntary program is designed to connect those who have some free time to those who aren’t able to cook for themselves, and if more people signed up with this then a lot more people could be helped.
