If you work in homecare or if you work in private nursing then you may be interested to know that there are currently issues with the broken care system. Those who have worked with bespoke care packages or even those who are social workers and offer mental health support are finding that they have to try and reduce the amount of pressure that is on social care and they also have to make sure that they do not fall back on the pledge that Boris Johnson has made.
Those who work in social care have tried to urge Sunak so that they can explain how broken the system is and to also find out if anything can be done to try and tackle the current workplace shortage. This is especially the case when you look at the social care sector. At the end of the day, people with dementia are now facing poor care and they are also facing very large catastrophic costs. They are facing impossible choices on top of this and for this reason, an urgent reform is needed. It is important to have an important timeline for delivery and in particular, the care cap is going to be put into place.
If more is not done to try and stop this disaster now then it is important to know that any further changes won’t be as effective because the damage that has been done will be too much. The government are also rumoured to be rolling back the main flagship pledge and this is going to put a cap on care costs in the year 2023. If this does get reversed then this is going to really impact the sector and it is going to mean disastrous things for the future.
