A Care Home Pub has Opened up in Carrickfergus

Residents at a care home in Carrickfergus have been given some serious sporting action. The home provides care for over 90 people and this includes those who are currently living with dementia. A lot of the residents have even been using the bar so that they can follow up on all of their favourite sports as well. The replica sports bar has been established to try and give people a home away from home. They were reluctant to join in but now most of them are up for a bit of fun. They enjoy getting up and having a pint as it means that they are able to get away from everything. The staff have also come out to say that they are much happier and they are also able to enjoy the scenery as well.

Those who work in homecare jobs or even those who work in homecare nursing will know how important it is for people to let off some steam now and again and this is especially the case if you are an older resident.

If you are a private carer then this is even more the case. The ambassador for the home is known as being Stephen Beckett and he has commended the staff for actually coming up with the idea. This is fantastic to say the least and it is incredible to see how so many people have banded together to try and make this happen. Of course, only time will tell if this whole thing is able to carry on and it is incredible to see how much progress has been made so far.
The home are really putting the work in to try and make great things happen and it’s great to see how everything is coming along.
