CARE SUPPORT WORKER

Description

Nursing Direct is currently recruiting experienced Care Support Workers to join our growing team, providing high-quality mental health and complex care support across Chingford and Enfield.

This role is ideal for compassionate, reliable, and proactive individuals with experience supporting people with mental health needs, challenging behaviours, and complex care requirements. You will be working within supported living, residential, and home care environments, delivering person-centred support that promotes dignity, independence, and positive outcomes.

Previous community experience is not essential; however, applicants must have strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work confidently within a multidisciplinary care environment. CAMHS experience is highly desirable.

Key responsibilities:

  • Providing high-quality care and support within safe and therapeutic environments
  • Supporting individuals with daily routines, emotional wellbeing, and independence
  • Monitoring and responding appropriately to behavioural or mental health presentations
  • Completing daily notes, care records, and relevant documentation accurately
  • Following care plans, risk assessments, safeguarding procedures, and positive behaviour support strategies
  • Promoting dignity, wellbeing, and person-centred care at all times
  • Supporting service users within the community, residential, and supported living settings
  • Communicating effectively with service users, families, colleagues, and healthcare professionals
  • Maintaining high standards of confidentiality, professionalism, and infection control

Essential requirements:

  • Minimum 6 months UK healthcare or support work experience in a relevant setting
  • Enhanced DBS issued within the last 12 months or registered on the Update Service
  • PMVA or equivalent behaviour-management training
  • Good standard of written and spoken English
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Calm, reliable, and confident in managing challenging or complex situations
  • Ability to complete documentation accurately and professionally

Desirable experience:

  • CAMHS experience
  • Experience supporting individuals with complex mental health presentations and behavioural needs
  • Background in supported living, residential services, or complex care settings
