Nursing Direct is currently recruiting experienced Registered Mental Health Nurses (RMNs) to join our growing team providing high-quality mental health and complex care support across Barnet and Enfield.
This role is ideal for a confident, compassionate, and proactive nurse with experience supporting individuals with mental health needs, challenging behaviours, and complex care requirements. You will be working within supported living, residential, and home care environments, delivering person-centred support that promotes dignity, independence, and positive outcomes.
Previous community experience is not essential; however, applicants must have strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work confidently within a multidisciplinary care setting. CAMHS experience is highly desirable.
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality mental health and clinical support in safe and therapeutic environments
- Assess, monitor, and respond appropriately to individuals’ mental health and behavioural presentation
- Support service users with emotional regulation, daily routines, and recovery-focused care
- Complete and maintain accurate paperwork, daily notes, care records, and risk assessments
- Follow and implement care plans, safeguarding procedures, and positive behaviour support strategies
- Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing at all times
- Support shift coordination and leadership responsibilities where required
- Communicate effectively with service users, families, colleagues, and external professionals
- Maintain high standards of clinical governance, infection control, and confidentiality
Essential requirements:
- Minimum 3 months UK nursing experience in a relevant healthcare setting
- Valid NMC registration
- Enhanced DBS issued within the last 12 months or registered on the Update Service
- PMVA or equivalent behaviour-management training
- Good standard of written and spoken English
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Calm, reliable, and confident in managing challenging or complex situations
- Ability to complete documentation accurately and professionally
Desirable experience:
- Previous shift-leading experience
- CAMHS experience
- Experience supporting individuals with complex mental health presentations and behavioural needs
- Background in supported living, residential services, or complex care settings
