- Description
Nursing Direct is currently recruiting compassionate, dedicated, and experienced Complex Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) to support individuals with complex care needs across Guildford and surrounding areas of Surrey.
This role involves providing high-quality, personalised care to individuals living with a range of complex conditions, including neurological disorders, spinal injuries, acquired brain injuries, learning disabilities, autism, and long-term health conditions. Some individuals may also present with behaviours that challenge, requiring confident and skilled support.
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred care tailored to complex health needs
- Assist with personal care, including feeding, bathing, dressing, hygiene, and daily routines
- Support nutrition, hydration, and overall wellbeing
- Promote independence, dignity, and choice at all times
- Implement and follow care plans, risk assessments, and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies
- Support medication administration (where applicable and trained to do so)
- Encourage social, emotional, and developmental wellbeing
- Maintain accurate documentation and records in line with regulatory standards
- Work collaboratively with families and healthcare professionals to ensure consistent, safe care delivery
Essential requirements:
- Proven experience supporting individuals with complex care needs
- Experience working with behaviours that challenge
- Hands-on experience in personal care and supporting daily living activities
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach
- Ability to remain calm and professional in dynamic or crisis situations
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexible availability, including days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays (where possible)
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
Shifts available:
We offer flexible shifts ranging from 8–12 hours, including:
- Days
- Nights
- Weekend shifts (if preferred)
