Nursing Direct are currently recruiting experienced, compassionate, and resilient Care Support Workers across Guildford and surrounding areas in Surrey.
This role involves supporting individuals living with autism and complex needs, including behaviours that may challenge. You’ll be working within a dedicated and supportive team, delivering high-quality, person-centred care that promotes independence, dignity, and positive outcomes.

Key responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality, person-centred support to individuals with autism and complex behavioural needs
- Support service users with, daily living tasks, personal care and maintaining routines and life skills
- Implement Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans and follow agreed risk management strategies
- Safely manage behaviours that challenge in line with PMVA training and organisational policies
- Work collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals, and multidisciplinary teams
- Maintain accurate documentation, records, and reports in line with regulatory requirements
- Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, independence, and dignity at all times
Essential requirements:
- Minimum 1 year’s experience supporting individuals with autism and behaviours that may challenge
- Current PMVA (Prevention & Management of Violence and Aggression) training – mandatory
- Strong understanding of autism spectrum conditions and trauma-informed approaches
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond appropriately during crisis situations
- Excellent communication skills and a strong team-working approach
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays (where possible)
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
Shifts available:
We offer various shifts ranging from 8–12 hours, including:
- Days
- Nights
- Weekends (if you’re happy to work them)
