Nursing Direct is seeking experienced and compassionate Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) to provide 1:1 support for a 20-year-old male client with complex health needs during a family holiday in Clocaenog, Denbighshire. This is a rewarding short-term live-in opportunity for HCAs who are confident in delivering high-quality, person-centred care in a relaxed family setting.
Location: Clocaenog, Ruthin, Denbighshire, LL15
Client overview:
The client is living with multiple complex diagnoses, including:
- Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy (GMFCS Level IV)
- Spastic Dystonia
- Scoliosis
- GORD
- Dysphagia
- Drug-resistant epilepsy
- Non-verbal (uses Eye Gaze communication)
- Visual impairments (squint and long-sightedness)
Care responsibilities:
- Full assistance with all activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Manual handling using appropriate equipment
- Epilepsy and seizure management
- Support with dysphagia and safe feeding
- Medication administration (as per training and protocols)
What we’re looking for:
We are seeking confident HCAs who are:
- Experienced in working with individuals with complex physical and neurological conditions
- Compassionate, patient, and committed to delivering exceptional care
- Able to adapt to a home and family holiday environment
- Comfortable managing challenging health needs with calm professionalism
Essential requirements:
- Valid Adult DBS
- Up-to-date SOCA/SOVA training
- Driver (desirable but not essential)
- Proven epilepsy care experience
- Competence in medication administration
- Manual handling training
- Experience in dysphagia care and management
