Description

Nursing Direct is a specialist homecare provider delivering bespoke care and support to children and adults within their own homes across the UK.

We are currently seeking young, energetic, and engaging Healthcare Assistants to support young females with complex emotional and developmental needs in Pulborough and the surrounding West Sussex area.

About the role:
You will provide compassionate, one-to-one care and support to young females with:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Depression and Anxiety
  • Self-harming behaviours, including cutting and overdosing

Your primary role will be to:

  • Enable parents to take siblings to appointments, clubs, and activities, while you build a trusting relationship with the young person in your care.
  • Occasionally provide support at the father’s home (nearby location).
  • Ideally use your own vehicle to take the young person out into the community.
  • Encourage and engage the young person in activities such as swimming, nature walks, and other outdoor pursuits.
  • Offer verbal support, reassurance, and gentle encouragement to participate in well-being activities like walking, personal care, or simply having a supportive conversation.
  • Maintain clear, consistent boundaries in a kind, respectful, and supportive manner.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience supporting young people with ASD, learning difficulties, depression, suicidal ideation, and self-harm.
  • A compassionate and patient approach, skilled in building rapport and trust with young people.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage young people in meaningful dialogue and activities.
  • A clear Enhanced DBS (registered on the Update Service or willing to obtain).
  • SOVA/SOCA training.
  • Experience managing and supporting challenging emotional behaviours.
  • A full, clean UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (preferred).
