Description

Nursing Direct, sister company to Nursdoc are currently recruiting a dedicated team of Care Support Workers to assist with the home transition of an adult client in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference, offering one-to-one support in both the home and community settings, while ensuring the client's individual needs, routines, and safety are prioritised at all times.

You will work closely with a small team to provide person-centred care, helping the client manage daily activities, encouraging independence, and applying distraction techniques and coping strategies tailored to their bespoke care plan.

Essential skills & experience:

  • Proven experience supporting adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Experience working with Mental Health conditions, including OCD, Complex PTSD, and self-injurious behaviours (e.g., head-banging, self-hitting)
  • Familiarity with PMVA (Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression) techniques
  • Competence in administering medication
  • Understanding of complex behaviour and how to implement proactive support strategies

Preferred experience:

  • Full, clean UK driving licence
  • Experience with PEG-J feeding (training will be provided if not already held)

Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to obtain one)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and quality care delivery
