- Description
- We are currently seeking Health Care Assistants with challenging behaviour experience to support a young male in his daily care and inclusion of social activities. This role will be working with a young person who has a mental health condition and learning difficulties, with the potential for some challenging behaviour. You will be supporting this service user in their own flat in a supported living facility whilst promoting independence and improving their quality of life.
Diagnosis:
- ASD
- Severe LD
- Generalised anxiety disorder
- Tourette’s syndrome
- History of seizures
- Echolalia
- Pathological Demand avoidance
- Challenging behaviours
- Self-injurious behaviours, does attack property and staff at times
Care requirements:
- Build a trusting relationship
- Encourage to engage in activities – triggers include being bored
- Encourage with life skills
- Maintain safety
- Meal prep and assistance if required
- Must be able to tolerate noise
- Support with personal care
Skills needed:
- PMVA trained or willing to complete training
- Medication trained - Not desirable
- Safeguarding - Training available
