A poll has been done in July across 243 NHS leaders. The poll has found that 99% of them are seeing some kind of social care crisis and that this is happening within their local area. A lot of people think that right now, it is worse than it was a year ago. Of course, if things happen to deteriorate even more then this will not be good for anyone. If you look at the NHS Confederation, you will see that they released a statement regarding how much pressure is on services right now. Those who work in homecare, in private nursing, or even those who work as social workers will know how much pressure there is right now. This also applies to those who offer bespoke care packages and those who work in mental health. People need support as it helps them to leave hospital safely and it also helps them to recover.

85% of people believe that there is not enough social care and that this is the main cause of delayed discharge. On top of this, you have medically fit patients who should be getting the help they need from the outside world. A lot of them are having to stay in hospital even though they don’t need to. Of course, you also have extended time for hospital beds as well. When you compare this with the difficulties that people have when it comes to discharging patients, you will see that this is putting a huge amount of strain on the system in general. This can be avoided if the right care measures are being put into place but right now, it looks like things need to be drastically changed. If a change isn’t made, it could have dire consequences.

The homecare company have said that they are now going to be expanding their private nursing, bespoke care packages, mental health packages and support for social workers. They are also going to be using Smart Care tech as this gives them the chance to predict a lot of health deteriorations before they happen. There is also going to be a specific machine algorithm that is going to help them to complete dynamic tasks. You have Google Maps for care, and this helps to use artificial intelligence to help care workers with anything that they may need. People who use this can then book or even coordinate the long-term care that they need. The great thing about this is that they can do it all from their smartphone. It is also possible for family members to receive updates from the care worker in real-time. This can be done through the online portal for Cera. Right now, Cera operate within the UK and in Germany. They have worked to raise a whopping £260m in funding and a lot of this is going to be a major help to say the least. Of course, they have also said that since they launched, that they have scaled at a very fast rate and that they have worked to benefit the lives of tons of people. They have also proved the need for tech in the healthcare world. Getting such a vast amount of financial backing during this period could well be a testament to their business model overall and this is incredible to say the least. They are committed to making sure that they turn the world of healthcare on its head while also making sure that they give support to those who need it the most.

The government have gone and announced a lot of new training opportunities for those who work in social care. A charity has warned that the sector could risk losing a lot of their dedicated staff this way. The government are working on introducing a support package and that they have hundreds of thousands of training courses available for people to take part in. if you work in homecare, or if you offer bespoke care packages then you will know how much of an amazing movement this is. If you work in private nursing as social workers or if you offer mental health support, then this is also a fantastic movement for you.

Matthew Harrison who works with public affairs has said that it is social workers who always put their lives on the line and that this is especially the case with the pandemic. Everyone has said that they deserve better but at the ed of the day not much has changed. Care workers have to make sure that they are receiving a wage that helps them to reflect the work that they do. At the end of the day, love and loyalty do not help toward the bills and if this kind of risk is not tackled right away then the sectors that we need the most may be affected. If wages are not supported or if those who have a disability are not helped, then this could have major consequences. This cannot be allowed to happen at the end of the day. People know how hard social care staff work and they also know how important it is to get staff the training that they need as well. A new framework has to be introduced to make sure that this is the case and there is also going to be a lot of training for staff too.

Steve Barclay has said that he is going to order civil servants to see if it is possible to rocket the number of staff who are being recruited by the NHS. If you work in homecare, offer bespoke care packages or even support private nursing with mental health then this will impact you. Even social workers are going to be affected. Mr Barclay has since given an interview and he has said that right now it is a sprint to try and get everyone ready for the decision and that the decision to hire more staff from overseas could simply not wait until a new prime minister has been chosen. Of course, the health secretary has suggested that more hiring has to be done for British jobs and that this could well take place in Sri Lanka, India and even the Philippines.

If staff want to get a visa, then they have to prove that they have a solid grasp of the English language, and it has also been indicated that they have to show that they have a nursing qualification. You do not need to have a high enough standard as the NHS frontline work though, so it is important to keep this in mind. When you look at the seasonal flu, or even the chance of another Covid wave, you will see that this is having a major impact on things like rising energy bills. This could well increase hospital admissions and it is safe to say that there are some real challenges coming this way. A lot of people are concerned that there has to be a real sprint and that people have to do what they can to band together and not hold off when it comes to critical or important decisions. They have to happen now and not later on.
