and this is all data that has been compiled by a leading charity. Those who work in either homecare jobs or dementia care will understand this situation and this is all because there is a lack of public awareness. Some people who suffer from this condition are also worried about leaving their house because they feel as though they are going to be embarrassed.
There has been a lack of public awareness regarding the neurological condition. The charity have marked a day as being World Parkinson’s Day and they have also revealed that over 75% of people don’t realise that it can cause freezing, hallucinations and even anxiety as well. These can come on without prior warning and they can cause people to have their movement severely limited. Heidi Reynolds who is from Cornwall has stated that she was diagnosed in 2014 as having Parkinson’s disease. She didn’t realise at all that she could possibly have the condition and this is because the symptoms that she has are not visible. She is now 41 years of age and her brain has stopped telling her body that she is hungry or even thirsty. She is also unable to know when she needs the toilet. She has to thin her drinks and food as she cannot swallow and some restaurants have not been understanding of her condition at all. Other restaurants however have been more than helpful, so it’s important to understand that some are trying to help.
Heidi is struggling with cognitive issues at the moment and she has to keep a daily list of tasks so that she can try and stay focused on what she is doing.
